Intelligent Environments Overview

Current Intelligent Environments is a set of services and APIs that GE has made available to facilitate application development. The services are in two categories, Intelligent Cities and Intelligent Enterprises.

Using the Intelligent Cities APIs, you can develop apps to enhance city and county planning. The APIs link to data relevant to the monitoring and management of parking, vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and public safety surveillance in monitored lots and roadways.

Using the Intelligent Enterprises APIs, you can develop apps related to monitoring and management of indoor human positioning and environmental factors such as illuminance, occupancy and temperature.

This document provides links for setting up your development environment, as well as information for getting started with the Intelligent Environment services and their associated APIs.

The types of data provided are available to you based on your access permissions. You will have access to certain device types, such as

SIMDATA = simulated data
NODE = real data from nodes that are installed inside the light fixtures.

Note: The information in this document corresponds with a BETA release. Over time, findings and feedback will be used to enhance the product functionality.
